Twilight

I'm so glad I got to see Twilight in a rented theater where there were strict rules of silence! I think it made the movie better. I liked it and want to see it again but I will not give a full review here.

I've been blessed with some great friends! These girls just put a smile on my face! Yes, we are still young girls because when we get together it's just like we are sitting in our dorms, Helaman Halls, and laughing. I can't get over it's been 18 years! Love you girls!

I met my friend Traci at the splash park today, it's been way too long since we've played! I'm glad I got to have fun with her before going back to school! (We'll just have to do girl nights!)

So fun to have friend time! Laura, Tyra, and I all went to Tepanyaki and then to Stevenettes (now the "malt shoppe"). I remember going to Stevenettes all the time for shakes back in the day...and everything was still the same! And not in a good way, same tables, vinyl seats, old jukebox, carpet...but it sure was fun to sit with friends and laugh at all the young kids at BYU now. Carrie and John met us there, I was very impressed that John came to girls nite, it was fun. Doesn't feel like we're that old girls! When I'm with you it feels like I'm 18 again!

Friend Time!

Yesterday I got to spend the day with friends from my freshman year at BYU, lets just say we've known each other for a LONG time! Carrie just moved back to Utah (YAY! now we just need to get Shauna, Tyra, Mindy, Carrie V, and Christy!!!) and Tyra was in town so we met at McDonalds to let the kids eat and play. It was an ordeal for me to get there, seriously?! I thought my kids would get easier when they got older...what dream world did I live in? In some ways they have but in others they have just got harder. For example, years ago when I would take the kids to McDonalds it would involve me crawling up in the playplace to get them to come out so we could go home!!!! Now it's dealing with getting the older children who "don't want to go to stupid, baby, boring, McDonalds!!!" into the car to leave home... still a huge fit to deal with. But worth it to just sit with friends and sip a diet coke!

Saturday
If a week goes by and we have not been in the mountains...well, we just don't talk like that at our house! This is again our favorite canyon, but it was so crowded we were lucky to find a place, even though it was close to the road, we had a great spot by the river, two things are kids can do for hours are 1-throw rocks in a river and 2-draw. It was nice to get out of the house!




Sunday
I love Sundays! My parents came for dinner and family home evening. It was so nice! The kids always get super charged when we have people over, it's funny. I'm just glad I was able to get out of bed that day after having a 24 hour migraine. Those things are totally unbearable, you can't move, your head feels like, well, I cannot even describe it, you can't stand even a little light, noise hurts, moving hurts, talking hurts, and the nausea is terrible! Tom gave me a massage (I know, shocker!) and that will usually help but not this time. I was glad when I could move around at 4pm. I hate to miss church, I love it and I need it! Tom took all the kids, and seriously I didn't even care about their hair, because I couldn't get up and do it anyway.

Monday
We just got back from the dentist, always the best 2 hrs of my life! :) The kids did great though, which means I did not cry due to kids being out of control! They all went in on their own, including Zack who has severe anxiety with going to the dentist. Alas, my British teeth genes have prevailed again! They all have a few cavities, except Summer. And what I want to know is why are they all in the same exact spots that they had filled last year?!! Isn't that the dentists fault? Argh! I'm mad. So much for spin brushes and protective toothpaste, it's futile against the British gene! Sorry kids! Just give me dentures now...
