Clear Creek, 5th grade overnight field trip

Alpine School District owns a camp up Spanish Fork Canyon near Schofield. It's just for 5th graders to go during the school year and spend 2 days and a night, and see all the fun things they have. Then they offer a week long summer camp, so I think it's a ploy to get kids to sign up for summer camp, but it was still FUN! I went with Savannah and took one of the life skills students, they had a blast. I loved being with my baby girl, she really is a sweetie...and I got to see some obnoxious 5th grade girls, so I totally appreciate my loving child!

the whole group being silly

being "normal"

Me and my baby

of course there was lots of cafeteria food...I ruined my diet!

and skits

We retired two American flags, it's a really neat ceremony, very emotional.

the girls in my cabin

now being silly

the ropes course, everyone's favorite...except me, I actually tried and fell a lot...not as coordinated or in shape as I used to be!

this tree thing is called the "witch's broom"

Me and my pal Loretta!

ah, the metal bunk beds...yep, no sleep for me, aside from the fact that the girls laughed and talked for hours.

more fun stuff, you have to get everyone on without having the see-saw touch the ground

hiking, the weather was so nice!

the cabins were nice

look what ours was called

Definitely an experience I won't forget, Savannah gave it a 10! So glad I went!

Friends are the salt in my life...

I've been blessed with some great friends! These girls just put a smile on my face! Yes, we are still young girls because when we get together it's just like we are sitting in our dorms, Helaman Halls, and laughing. I can't get over it's been 18 years! Love you girls!

Reading

I'm so happy that my kids love reading!

Super Saturday

11/8- Instead of tackling/de-cluttering our horrendous garage, we decided to go up in the mountains (I know, shocker!) and make smores and hot chocolate. As usual it was so much fun! I was thinking why we love to get outdoors so much and something that came to mind was the fact that the kids can run, scream, go crazy and it doesn't drive me insane! ;) That's just ONE reason. Towards the end of our outing Sydney and Zack thought it would be fun to spit hot chocolate everywhere, that was our cue to pack up. It's all fun and games until someone takes it too far! Still a very great day, better than cleaning out our garage! Look at how much fun I'm having with your camera, Melissa!

the kids love to climb

Summer loves to do "fish face"

Sydney is her own person! :)

"But mom, I'm not cold!"

Yummy smores...confession...I ate one!

Me and my "special diet" hot chocolate! Not as good as the real stuff.

the real stuff

notice the huge glob of marshmellow in Summer's hair!

she's not happy about the hair stuck to her face, so I took a picture and laughed...I know, great mom!

Go with the 5's...go to your pictures folder, pick the 5th folder, then the 5th picture...see what comes up.

This is my little guy Zack when he turned 3! This was the best cake, we put dry ice in it to make it "steam"!

Fun Sunday and Cute Video

Sunday was such a restful, uplifting, energizing day! Church was wonderful, I had dinner ready when we got home, I took a nap with my baby, and we went on a drive through Provo canyon. Everyone wanted to get out and do a little walk up Big Springs Park and it was so refreshing...

It was raining so we all had hoodies

there was a gorgeous river

a pet "mountain hedgehog" aka moss rock

occasional fit throwing

smiling kids

and lots of mud

We nearly didn't get out of the car because of the weather but it turned out to be a very enjoyable, energizing, unforgettable walk!!!

And here's a cute short video of our pumpkin carving
